RESILIENCE
If we ever needed to be resilient, it is now. While, the 2008 global financial crisis, initially and very profoundly, impacted organizations, requiring them to adapt to the changing environment, the aftermath of the crisis continues to provide a very demanding environment that companies must manage.
We are living in a time of deep challenge and change on many fronts. We can feel the pain of our planet as it is caught in the throes of political, social, moral, business, and ecological convulsion. The complexity of the challenge is overwhelming and seemingly not manageable. However, there is hope - through understanding resilience.
David E. White provides five principles that every organization can use to develop and understand the attributes and state of resilience. Readers will journey thru the art of organizational calibration, as illustrated at Ford Motor Company during their post-global financial crisis rebirth, and learn to not only better understand resilience, but also how to become resilient.
David E White is an organizational change consultant.
